About the Symposium

The ORS Upstate NY and Northeast Region Conference/CMSR Symposium is hosted by the ORS in collaboration with the University of Rochester Department of Orthopaedics and the Department of Biomedical Engineering.

Tentative Agenda
Career Session Panelists

Detailed notifications with the assigned poster number were sent out to all primary authors on July 13, 2017. ORS and Randy N. Rosier Award finalists were also notified.

Please refer to the following guidelines for set-up and break-down of your poster.

  • Each poster panel will have number identifiers to make it easy for you to find your spot.
  • To fit on the panel, your poster should be no larger than 48” wide by 36” high. Push pins will be provided.
  • During your scheduled presentation window, please be available at your poster and energized to discuss your work with visitors.

The poster sessions will take place in Goergen Hall (http://www.rochester.edu/maps/#River Campus) on the afternoon of July 27.

Odd numbered posters:
Set up is between 8:00 AM – 8:45 AM
Odd numbered posters will be presented during Poster Session #1 from 1:40 PM – 2:40 PM
Break down is promptly at 2:40 PM to permit set up for Session #2

Even numbered posters:
Set up is between 2:40 PM – 3:00 PM
Even numbered posters will be presented during Poster Session #2 from 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Break down is promptly at 4:00 PM – please remove your poster before heading to the Career Development Panels

Symposium events will take place in two buildings that 4-min (walking) from each other.

  • Robert B. Goergen Hall (Biomedical Engineering (BME) building) on River Campus
    • Poster sessions – posters will be set up on morning of Thursday and remain up until end of conference on Friday
    • Career development panels on Thursday
  • Class of ’62 Auditorium on University of Rochester Medical Campus
    • UR Center for Musculoskeletal Research Trainee talks Thursday morning – open to all Symposium attendees
    • Plenary talk by Dr. Guilak on Thursday
    • Talks by NSF Program Director Dr. Grimm and NIH Program Dr. Wang on Friday

Parking on River Campus (6-min walk from Goergen Hall) will be available for attendees on RSVP list*.
*All attendees will be required to show a photo ID at information booth to pick up parking pass
