About the Meeting

The section meeting will begin with a business and planning meeting, then be followed by an exciting series of presentations on refining and standardizing models of load induced bone formation moderated by Russell Main, PhD, Purdue University and Bettina Willie, PhD, McGill University. Leading groups will present their best practices for their individual loading models, as well as, current challenges and issues with each loading paradigm. Presentations will be followed by a panel discussion with the aim of guiding the group to reach consensus on a variety of issues, including application and translatability, loading methodologies, post-loading analyses, overall experimental design and reporting and animal welfare and care and use committee considerations.
