“This is one of the unique opportunities available to members of the ORS... I was able to use this opportunity to advantage at a critical point in my career. My advice to potential applicants is to think broadly and to use the funds as venture capital to invest in the future. [This program] helped me to see how leading scientists think, how they build their laboratories, and how they integrate into their institutions. Exposure to cutting edge approaches of doing protein chemistry has directly translated into visible improvements in our research and resulted in stronger grant applications. The exposure to other centers of excellence has made us more ambitious, and inspired us to continually seek to take our research to the next level. I encourage all qualified members to apply and use this opportunity to take them out of their zones of comfort toward the enhancements of their careers. Not many professional societies offer such an opportunity, and I am grateful to the ORS for it.”INSTRUCTIONS
