Meeting Information and Schedule

Annual Meeting Location
The 55th Annual Meeting of the Orthopaedic Research Society will be held at the Venetian Hotel-Resort-Casino and the adjacent Sands Expo Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, Sunday, February 22, through Wednesday, February 25, 2009.

The ORS/AAOS Combined Day will take place on
Wednesday, February 25, 2009.

Dear Fellow ORS Members, Colleagues, and Guests,

On behalf of the Orthopaedic Research Society, I am extremely pleased to invite you to attend the 55th Annual Meeting of the ORS, to be held in Las Vegas, Nevada, February 22-25, 2009. The ORS has not been to Las Vegas for 20 years, so this may represent a new venue for many of you. Las Vegas is an exciting location that offers many varied activities beyond the usual Las Vegas attractions. The mountains and Hoover Dam are easily accessible by car, and the weather should be pleasant enough even in February for those who will opt to enjoy the outdoors. The Venetian Hotel-Resort-Casino and the Sands Expo Convention Center are beautiful facilities that offer convenient restaurants and shopping without having to venture outside.

The ORS Annual Meeting continues to be an extraordinary conference enabling members and non-members to bring new scientific discoveries to a forum for open discussion and debate. There is no other society that comprehensively integrates engineering and biological research on all cells, tissues and organs of the musculoskeletal system in an environment in which these new discoveries can be translated to the clinical environment. This is the most important activity of our Society. The Program Committee, Topic Chairs, and more than 160 volunteer abstract reviewers are working very hard to put together a program that will help to bring us up to date on the best, late-breaking research in our field.

In addition, our program will showcase many educational symposia and workshops, industry-related events, and other activities that have become a hallmark in our Society’s emphasis on the importance of training and mentoring of orthopaedic residents, graduate students and post-docs.

We thank you for your continuing support of the ORS, and we look forward to seeing you in Las Vegas in February of 2009.

Sincerely,

David B. Burr, PhD
President
Orthopaedic Research Society
