Meeting Information and Schedule
Dear Fellow Orthopaedic Researcher:The Orthopaedic Research Society along with the Australian and New Zealand, British, Canadian, European, Japanese, Korean, and Taiwan Orthopaedic Research Societies invites you to attend the 6th Combined Meeting of the Orthopaedic Research Societies on October 20 – 24, 2007 in Honolulu, Hawaii, at the Hawaii Convention Center.
The 6th Combined Meeting will be hosted by the Orthopaedic Research Society (USA), whose Program Committee will select scientific papers organized into podium sessions and poster sessions. The program also includes timely educational workshops which will provide valuable summaries of the state-of-the-science in diverse areas of musculoskeletal research.
Please take full advantage of this opportunity to confer with your international colleagues and enjoy the discourse of our research community. In addition, the tropical paradise venue will provide an inspiring backdrop for this stimulating meeting.

The ORS reserves all of its rights to such material, and commercial recording or reproduction is specifically prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to, digital and film photography, videography, cellular phones, and other image or audio recording devices. |
New Investigator Recognition Awards
The New Investigator Recognition Awards (NIRAs) are presented to five (5) individuals for their work as young investigators.
- The candidate must have completed a residency or a PhD at the time of submission of their abstract to qualify, and must not have more than the equivalent of five (5) years of active research experience (i.e., approved institutional leaves of absence excluded) beyond completion of their residency or PhD.
- They must be first-listed and presenting author, as well as corresponding author and cannot be a previous award winner.
- The work must clearly be that of the applicant and not that of any co-author.
- Potential candidates must indicate a desire to compete by checking the NIRA box during the online abstract submission.
- All finalists (and not alternates) must be present at their posters during the Poster Sessions to maintain eligibility. Award recipients will be selected upon the quality and presentation of material in the abstract, the quality of the poster, and the ability to discuss the material.
- Award winners will be announced at the Luau.
The Speaker Ready Room is located in Room 303B of the Hawai’i Convention Center. The Speaker Ready Room is provided for presenters to prepare for their presentations and to ensure a seamless integration of a wide variety of audiovisual technologies in the various meeting rooms. All speakers must check into the Speaker Ready Room. By checking in at the Speaker Ready Room and following these simple guidelines, speakers will greatly contribute to the success of the meeting.
