Linda Vi is currently an MD/PhD student at the University of Toronto, Canada. She is conducting her research at the Hospital for Sick Children. Previous to this, she completed her BHSc and MSc at Western University. At the past ORS meeting, she was the recipient of the 2016 ORS/RJOS Young Female Investigator Travel Grant for her abstract titled, ‘Macrophage secreted factors rejuvenate fracture repair’.

Linda’s primary research interest is in tissue repair and regeneration; specifically, understanding the pathophysiological changes that underlie delayed/impaired bone fracture healing in aging. The long-term goal of her work is to develop therapeutics to restore this healing process. This interest represents a union between her previous research training in matrix biology and wound healing, and her clinical interest in the musculoskeletal system.

Linda has finished the PhD component of the MD/PhD program and has returned to clinical training to complete her medical degree. Her goal is to integrate both her passions for research and patient care into a rewarding career as a clinician-scientist.
