ORS Advocacy Day 2016
This year, we are asking Congress to appropriate $34.5 billion in fiscal year 2017 for the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Additionally, we recommend that Congress support the Next Generation Researcher Act (S.2014/H.R.3466), to improve opportunities for new researchers, promote earlier research independence; strengthen mentorship programs, enhance diversity efforts, and help new researchers obtain renewal funding.
Here’s how you can get involved:
- Use this letter to send a message to congress highlighting the importance of musculoskeletal research. A printable version is also available.
- Like and share the ORS Facebook posts promoting musculoskeletal research
- Tweet about your research using #OrthoResearch (Don’t forget to tag the ORS @ORSsociety!)
- Take to Facebook to share your research.
Need some suggestions on what to post? Research America offers some recommendations!
If you are frustrated by the lack of grant money for research, join the conversation and spread the news about the importance of musculoskeletal research and the impact we have made!
