Specific Area of Interest
Therapeutic Biomaterials
What are you currently working on?
Engineered extracellular matrices for engineering musculoskeletal tissues and to develop tissue mimetics of epithelial tissues and development of systemic drug delivery systems to treat musculoskeletal diseases/disorders.
What has been the biggest challenge/issue for you lately in your research?
Avoiding pesky clearance mechanisms in vivo – especially liver-mediated clearance – to maximize therapeutic delivery to tissues of interest (marrow, bone, etc).
What project(s) are you looking forward to in the near future?
Leveraging big data and active learning to increase the efficiency of therapeutic biomaterials development
What is the most unusual/unexpected item sitting on your desk right now?
Sight word flashcards for my daughter (could, would, should, etc.)
