The ORS International Section of Fracture Repair endeavors to provide equal educational training opportunities for all its members from diverse social, scientific, and professional backgrounds. To support this mission, we are pleased to announce a $500 Diversity Travel Award available for eligible poster or podium presenters to promote equitable access and opportunities to all its members and to increase the participation of underrepresented minority groups and members from developing countries.

Any eligible ISFR presenter can apply for this award by submitting a 500-word personal statement that indicates why you should be considered for the ISFR Diversity Award, describes your professional goals, and how this award will benefit your research.

The ideal candidate for this award must identify as a member of at least one underrepresented group in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) as follows:

  • Race and ethnicity: American Indian or Alaska Native, Black or African American, Hispanic or Latino, Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islanders
  • Member from a developing country
  • Other factors include:
    – Disability
    – LGBTQIA+
    – Gender identity and expression
    – Veteran status
    – First generation college
    – Socioeconomic status
