Open Clinician Position on Awards & Recognition Committee

This term will begin immediately following the 2026 Annual Meeting (March 27–31) and conclude at the 2028 Annual Meeting. This opportunity is open exclusively to clinicians who have been ORS members for at least 10 years.

About the Awards & Recognition Committee (ARC): The ARC oversees the ORS Outstanding Achievement Awards and other awards as assigned. The committee reviews, revises, and develops eligibility and evaluation criteria as needed. Each year, the Executive Committee informs the ARC of the awards it will oversee, with notification provided two months following the Annual Scientific Meeting. The ARC carefully reviews and scores candidate submissions to select final award recipients.

Committee Responsibilities:

  • Review and update 5–6 award descriptions and criteria, as needed
  • Provide input on Annual Goals, as appropriate
  • Review and score candidate submissions for 5–6 awards (June–October)
  • Attend the Annual Meeting Achievement and Collaboration Awards Session and the Awards Dinner

Expected Time Commitment:

  • Attend three 1-hour ARC meetings to discuss award review outcomes
  • Time spent reviewing applications varies based on the number of submissions. When submissions exceed 10 per award, reviews are typically divided among committee members

Specific Role:

  • Review and score assigned award applications
  • Participate in 3–5 meetings to discuss results and provide feedback on selected recipients
