Upcoming ORS Ambassador Events

Hosted by ORS Ambassadors around the world, these events are designed to bring the musculoskeletal research community together on a local level, connect current members, encourage networking, and introduce new audiences to the Orthopaedic Research Society.

With ORS Ambassador, David Hoey, PhD

The 31st Bioengineering in Ireland Conference was held at the Hodson Bay Hotel in Roscommon, Ireland from January 24-25, 2026. The conference welcomed approximately 250 attendees with 198 speakers across 25 different sessions broken into several different tracks including the Muscle, Tendon, and Bone track, sponsored by the Orthopaedic Research Society (ORS). The speakers were broken down into 45 Early Career Researchers, 92 PhD Students (Year 2+), and 58 Postdoc / Research Fellows.

In addition to the student and postdoctoral fellow presentations, there was 2 keynote talks which included:

  • Professor Dame Molly Stevens, FRS, FREng, FMedSci, University of Oxford, John Black Professor of Bionanoscience
  • Professor Michael Walsh, University of Limerick, Professor of Biomedical Device Engineering

At each of the ORS sponsored sessions, speakers were given ORS merchandise in the form of t-shirts, stress-balls, and other swag.

  • Postdoc/Research Fellow – Joshua Pepper, Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland
  • PhD Students (Year 2+) – Eevan Pakenham, Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland

  • Early career Researcher – Matilde Tanganelli, Trinity College Dublin
